Jaden Sander has just returned from her year in Denmark. It was our pleasure to hear Jaden describe just a few of the highlights from her year away. She not only met and made friends with other exchange students from around the world but learned to live in another country quite different from Canada. She entertained us with some of the differences she experienced living with her exchange families in rural areas, and getting on the wrong train ending up in another country (help – host parents !) Jaden’s presentation included some beautiful pictures of the historic school she attended and photos taken during school trips. Her year included travel throughout Europe, including Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. One of the “best things” she learned was how to say goodbye in so many languages. She is excited to include new friends from all over the world and so looks forward to travelling to reconnect with them. Hard to say goodbye but returning to Gravenhurst with so many memories !
Thank you for being such a wonderful ambassador of our town, Jaden. She is pictured with Rotarian, Pat Bongers.
