Dear Citizens of Gravenhurst
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve on a daily basis. It is recommended that organizations plan to respond in a flexible way to varying levels of severity and be prepared to change their operations as needed. We will continue to monitor the recommendations from Public Health and will react accordingly.
The good news is that, as long as we can, we are keeping our Wednesday night bingo going! We feel that because there is very limited contact when organizing the game each week that we can safely carry on and thereby provide a much needed distraction for our many players in Gravenhurst and Bracebridge. We will be monitoring the situation each week and will make every effort to continue however if at some point conditions are such that it is not safe for our members we will have to make that judgement call. Please continue to buy your weekly tickets and if bingo happens to be cancelled in future do not worry, we will either refund your purchase or make those tickets valid when we resume.
Until further notice we have canceled our regular Monday noon meetings as well as other Rotary events in our District. Our board meetings and committee meetings are mostly being done by teleconference.
All Rotarians are mindful of those in our community that may be impacted by the mental stress and the anxiety of this event as well as the self-isolation so many are experiencing. For any member of our community having difficulty please do not hesitate to reach out to someone from our club or to any of the agencies in our community. We are here to support you.
The health and safety of our Rotary members, their families and our community are our top priority and primary concern. Public Health officials are encouraging the use of social distancing and self-isolation to flatten the curve and protect vulnerable people in our community. We each need to do our part to endeavour to abide by public health recommendations.
Wishing all of you good health over the coming days and weeks,
Rotary Club of Gravenhurst
