Gravenhurst Masketeers “mask our town”!

Gravenhurst Rotarian, Barb McCabe had the idea at the beginning of April to rally local sewers to make much needed masks for the community during this pandemic.
“I found that the enthusiasm was infectious and exciting — such a nice change to all the worries we are going through now,” said McCabe. “It is most certainly a joyful, rewarding and loving kind of way to assist in any small way we can.”
As of April 20, the group of cutters, sewers and drivers have delivered over 1300 masks to first responders and medical assistants in our town; to The Manor, Granite Ridge, Muskoka Shores, seniors building, workers in our takeout stores, Canadian Mental Health, Post Office workers, etc.
Our sewers are still very dedicated and producing great masks…our goal was to “Mask our Town”. We also have a group of drivers who are happy to deliver these masks.
IF at all possible we would like to get the word out to Gravenhurst that we do have masks. They are completely FREE! Please just “Pay it Forward” if one wishes.
We are hoping you can assist us in this endeavour to get more of our town wearing masks when they are out in public as recommended by Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer.
If anyone wishes a mask, please have them contact Barb McCabe at marvbarbmccabe@gmail.com
Thank you so very much !
